The Return of the Ark

Announcing the release of The Return of the Ark, a new book co-authored by Melissa Flores and myself. In it we discuss the moving of the Ark of the Covenant in 1 & 2 Samuel and how it parallels the progression of the church in America during the twentieth century.

The ark is a representation of the power and glory of God. As we track its progressive moves, we see a pattern of restoration and a fulfillment of the promise of "the greater works" promised by Jesus. Have you ever wondered why we don't see more of the signs, wonders, and miracles that are so much a part of the ministry of the early church? What happened to the ministry of the apostle and prophet? Are people being healed by the power of God today? Are there evil forces at work to capture the ark and stop the outpouring of the Spirit of God? The Return of the Ark looks at the history of the church and key people God has used to bring the presence and power of God into the earth.

Melissa and I will be sharing about the book today on her radio show, The Listener Cafe, heard on He's Alive Radio at 1 P.M. and 9 P.M. EDT. You can listen "live" on-line at http://www.hesalive.net/. The book is available at http://www.amazon.com/ or by contacting the World Lighthouse Worship Center and 301-895-3292.

Today as we Americans celebrate the anniversary of our Independence from the British Crown, I am reminded of a statement of one of our founding fathers. Benjamin Franklin, a senior statesman among the group of gentlemen who gathered in Philadelphia as a part of the Continental Congress and the Constitutional Convention said, "You have yourselves a republic, if you can keep it."

This statement conveyed the weight of the daunting assignment held by our founding fathers as they looked to the future and committed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the cause of America. Are "We the People" still committed to the great cause of liberty? Can we enter the debate of issues facing our nation today without assisanating the character of our fellow Americans? Will we remain informed citizens who have a knowledge of truth or will we regurgitate the mantra the media is feeding us?

During the Constitutional Convention when the delegates had come to a great impasse, George Washington, President of the Convention, called the men to prayer. They had an understanding that Divine Providence had birthed this nation and brought the colonies through the Revolutionary War. The men humbled themselves and dropped to their knees seeking the wisdom of God as they laid the foundation of this nation.

As we look to the future, may we follow the example of those who have gone before us and seek the wisdom of God for our nation. My fellow Americans, it is time to pray! "We have a republic, if we can keep it." The keeping of our nation rests upon us as citizens. May we not forget the lessons of 9/11. We must remain vigilant in national security, united as a people, and constant in prayer. Today as we celebrate may we lift our voices and declare, God bless America!
